A glittery Band-Aid and a late appointment was how I started my morning

Followed by a silky, icy, soy milk coffee that tantalized my tongue

Each blink shading my eyes from the near-blinding sun as I stare at the trees

Those damn sunglasses are somewhere…

Moving, thinking, jamming, waiting for the light to turn green.

Who else senses this energy?

I am not rushed, or anxious or eager

Calmness and serenity put my caffeine-powered mind at ease

I’d like to find some fresh, succulent berries to stain my lips a magenta-like blood

Taste the grass-like aroma for a mere second, and ah! It’s gone

No can do, still on my journey. The berries must wait.
